United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women)
The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Women Empowerment is a committee of the United Nations that is dedicated to the empowerment and equality of minorities. The committee dedicates to accelerate progress and meet the needs for women and other genders in regards to equity, personal hygiene, and equal rights. By working with the United Nations, they are promoting the “protection of human rights[,] a key purpose and guiding principle of the Organization”. In addition, the committee will be tackling gender dysphoria and the evolution of gender non-conformity to discuss their rights with the utmost respect they deserve. UN Women works with countries around the world by making laws, policies, and programs to ensure the protection and fulfill the needs of women and non-conforming genders worldwide. At ASFMUN 2020, delegates will debate and work together to come to a conclusion on battling the stereotypes of women's menstruation and the evolution of gender non-conformity in relation to basic dignity, by imitating the role that UN Women has at the United Nations
