ASF Commemorates Memorial Day - Photo Gallery

ASF Commemorates Memorial Day - Photo Gallery

Last Wednesday, May 24th, members of the ASF Community attended the Memorial Day ceremony at the American Cemetery. Faculty members and Students participated in the event with a chorus and chamber orchestra ensemble directed by Uppers School Teacher, Gildardo Pérez.

The event was sponsored by the US Embassy and ASF was invited by the American Benevolent Society. Members of the American and Mexican armed forces attended, as well as the US ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar.

Together, we observed this day to honor men and women from the US Armed Forces who died while in service.

What is Memorial Day?

"Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America [...] Memorial Day was borne out of the Civil War (which ended in 1865) and a desire to honor our dead." Read more here.

About ASF's Participation
