ASF Holds the 19th Golf Tournament to Support the Endowment Fund for Financial Aid

  •  Members of The American School Foundation A.C. community participated in this philanthropic event, which is a major booster to the School’s Endowment Fund for Financial Aid that benefits 17% of its student body
  • AT&T and Banorte, among other sponsors, helped make this traditional event happen successfully

For the 19th consecutive year, The American School Foundation A.C. (ASF) held its Golf Tournament. The event was held at Los Encinos Golf Club and it was a reflection of the continuity that the School has given to all of its academic and community-building initiatives despite a very challenging period following the COVID-19 pandemic.

As every year, the focus of this tournament remains with a primary objective: fundraising for the Endowment Fund for Financial Aid. This is a unique fund among schools in Latin America with a K-12 program, designed to provide financial aid for students who require assistance to continue their studies at The American School Foundation.

“In ASF, we are proud to be one of the few schools to hold events like this in favor of its student body. 17% of our students receive financial aid thanks to initiatives such as the Golf Tournament. We want to keep giving opportunities to our students to enjoy and take advantage of world-class education,” commented Cecilia Cepeda, Director of Institutional Advancement at ASF.

The organizing committee of the tournament includes parents, staff, members of the Board of Trustees, and alumni of the School.

The event was held with all safety and hygiene measures, including social distancing and mandatory COVID-19 tests for all attendees to ensure everyone’s health.

Mark Iver Sylte, Executive Director at ASF emphasized: “As we come to the end of a very successful 2021-22 school year, our Golf Tournament is a great opportunity to celebrate with ASF friends and reflect on everything that we have done to overcome a historic moment that challenged everyone in every industry. We are eager to keep this momentum and remain focused on providing exceptional education to all of our students”.

The tournament was attended by members of the entire School Community, such as parents, alumni from different generations, faculty, as well as entrepreneurs and golf enthusiasts.

Likewise, the event had the support of various organizations such as the Los Encinos Golf Club, AT&T Mexico, Banorte, Advance, Colgate, Innovación Segura, Edyen, Seguros Atlas, Grupo Desarrolla, Herman Pro, Changan, Tecnologías Próxima, Maestro Dobel Tequila, GEPP, Porco Rosso.

In the end, all participants attended a closing ceremony where outstanding players were recognized. See the full list of winners here.
