GAMMA winner of the Global Youth Action Fund

GAMMA winner of the Global Youth Action Fund

By María Belén Silva López, Grade 11 Student

The GAMMA club at the American School Foundation has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Global Youth Action Fund (GYAF) by the International Baccalaureate (IB). As Co-president of GAMMA, I’m proud to share this exciting news with our school community.

The Global Youth Action Fund is a key initiative of the IB’s Festival of Hope, which empowers secondary school students who are taking meaningful action to tackle global challenges. Out of more than 1,100 applications from students around the world, only 110 projects—representing 314 students from 43 countries—were awarded funding. GAMMA is honored to be among them.

Our project focuses on bridging educational gaps in our community by offering free, engaging classes to children from public schools in Mexico City. This initiative reflects our club’s commitment to social responsibility, inclusion, and meaningful service.

We’re incredibly grateful for this recognition, and we hope it inspires other ASF students to pursue change-making initiatives of their own.
