Few things make people come together in Mexico as much as soccer. Proof of it was the 2023 edition of Alumni Soccer Tournament, where 10 alumni teams and their families came back home to the ASF campus, and passionately greeted each other in this sports event.

We had teams from classes 1998 to 2016 (see pics below). The games started at 9:00 a.m. up until the final between Class 2016 scoring 4 goals to 1 from Class 2013.  Making the team "Berbios FC"  of Class 2016 the Alumni Soccer Tournament Champions of the Year 2023. The tournament ended at 3:00 p.m. with the award ceremony. The 1st place champions won a unique soccer pin with the tournament date and the Championship Trophy. The 2nd and third places were awarded pins. All other players received an Alumni Cup with a Soccer Tournament button. 

As this was a family-and-friends event, the littlest of bears enjoyed seeing their fathers play. The little cubs had a section of their own with face painting, air hockey, foosball, and mini soccer and basketball games. 

Everyone had the chance to eat Beto and Gloria's delicious food: cheeseburgers, hotdogs, and quesadillas; as well as snacks and refreshments offered by the Alumni Association Committee: Chicharrones, chips, sodas, and a variety of fresh veggies with lime and chili sauce. 

The Bear Boosters were also there to offer official exclusive Alumni merch for sale. 

It was a wonderful sunny Saturday, hope to see you all soon for next year's Tournament. We plan to open the women's category so stay on the lookout!
