Last Sunday, February 25th, the Upper School National Honor Society (NHS) Officers and members recently had the honor of hosting 65 athletes and friends for Special Olympics. It was a day filled with fun and excitement as basketball, volleyball, soccer, and Dodgeball matches developed. The true spirit of inclusivity and teamwork defined the event as everyone had a great time.

On February 17th and 18th, The Upper School Brick x Brick Club and Construyendo built a house for a mom and son, Lucero and Marco, in a community in need in the State of Mexico. 

The Founders Awards is a celebration in which members of our Community are recognized for the values set by ASF's Founders.

On February 8th, our Head of School, Mr. Kolia O'Connor, unveiled a striking wall of tiles, which we now proudly host at The Ángeles Espinosa Yglesias Fine Arts Center’s backstage hallway, showcasing the immense artistic talent of Ms. Adele Goldschmied and the ceramics students who learned from her from 1983 to 1998. This initiative serves to immortalize the artistic legacy of our esteemed art students, offering inspiration to future generations.

The 11th edition of ASF Talks happened this February 8th at the school’s Fine Arts Center. The theme of this year’s talks was the forefront of technology and innovation – Artificial Intelligence! Alumni, staff and faculty, students and parents alike were among our attendees, excited to see how ASF’s six Alumni speakers have incorporated Artificial Intelligence into their various fields of work. 

Last Thursday, February 1st, Grade 11 student John Nahmias shared his journey into the world of 3D printing with Grade 2 students. Currently, these students are studying a unit focusing on accepting differences, aligning with ASF's mission to foster inclusivity.

After years of absence ASF MUN was relaunched for upper school students on January 18th and 19th, resuming an essential platform for learning, growth, and global engagement.

During the week of December 4th to 8th, the MS Girls' Soccer Team participated in the ASOMEX Tournament.In their final match against ASF Monterrey, they achieved a 6-1 win.

In a display of community engagement and empathy, ASF students exemplified the school’s mission of fostering a more just, peaceful, and ecologically sound world during a recent visit by the Therapy Ensemble to a care center/orphanage.

• The American School Foundation’s community came together in an immersive artistic experience to promote the talent of its young students. 

• The funds raised through the entrance fee will be allocated to various projects within the school, including scholarships to support students in need.

Monday, October 24th, 2023, Project Runway Upcycle took place for the first time at the American School Foundation. There were 18 Upper School students, who had only 8 hours to design an iconic look guided by fashion designer and ASF mom Sara Micha.

The 2023 Faculty and Staff Art Exhibition is a community event that celebrates and promotes ASF employee's artistic talent.

Last Thursday, August 31st, Yusuf Isa Cuevas entertained ASF students with his show "Dandelion," which he performed at the Ángeles Espinosa Yglesias Fine Arts Center. 

Teachers with their Students have made compost, prepared the gardens, planted and cared for more than 600 plants distributed in 21 school gardens, a garden atop the green roof on the FAC and the pollinator's garden.
