Special Committee on the Charter of the United Nations and on the Strengthening of the Role of the Organization

The Special Committee on the Charter of the United Nations and on the Strengthening of the Role of the Organization is dedicated to reviewing governments’ proposals on visibility and effectiveness of the United Nations and its organs, with the purpose of enhancing the established role of the organization in the ever-changing social, environmental, and political sphere of our world. Members of this committee assemble and discuss modifications to the Charter, organizational policies, and address current events and issues that affect the needs of the global population that the United Nations seeks to address.

Delegates who are interested in becoming involved not within the UN, but with the UN as a whole and seeking to right the wrongs that the organization has generated: this is the place for you!

This committee puts you directly in charge of the fate and responsibility of the United Nations, and challenges you to not just tackle self-contained issues, but address the bigger picture of the problems that hinder the organization’s role.

As the only function of this committee is a full revision of the UN Charter, the central topic of it is: UN accountability on issues that threaten national welfare and security.
