Dear Community,
We've come, thankfully, to the end of the week. Barring some unforeseen development, our next communication with you will be early next week.
Our confirmed cases amongst ASF parents have risen to nine, though we still have no confirmed cases amongst ASF students, teachers, or support staff. These may not be entirely accurate numbers, as some may not have reported, but we certainly hope that each of you is in good health and taking steps to protect your loved ones.
Our final day of student/parent access to campus is tomorrow (Friday, March 20 2020). I was grateful to see most of you practicing social distancing while on campus today, and I hope that continues tomorrow. The Middle School band director has agreed to open the band room from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for students to pick up instruments, so if you need to get one, you can adjust your time to take advantage of this opportunity.
We continue to investigate new ways and new tools for delivering instruction. We'll share more information next week.
Last night we published answers to the first Frequently Asked Questions on the COVID-19 website. I know there are pressing questions yet to be answered (e.g. Washington, D.C. trip, exchange rates for payments, etc.) and we are working as quickly as we can to get them answered. If you have new questions, please send them to us at: covid_19faq@asf.edu.mx.
Sincerely,
Mark Iver Sylte
Executive Director
