Dear Members of the ASF Community,
At the beginning of every year the ASF Board of Trustees initiates the process of identifying, evaluating and, ultimately, proposing members of our community for the open positions on the Board of Trustees. The Nominating Committee is charged with this duty, is independent of the Board and will report to it only to present its recommendations. I am pleased to chair the committee this year.

This year the Nominating Committee will be proposing four U.S. citizens for Proprietary Director and one non-U.S. citizen for Director-at-Large positions for Board terms that would begin July 1, 2019. All members of the ASF community who are interested in serving on the Board of Trustees should submit an application, including a short cover letter stating the reasons for wanting to serve on the Board. Applications must be submitted by Friday, February 15, and interviews with potential candidates will then be scheduled.
The ASF Community is rich with many talented and dedicated individuals who would be considered outstanding, contributing members to the Board of Trustees; however, we have a limited number of positions to be filled. As such, in addition to Board Membership, the Nominating Committee will be looking for individuals who could serve on Board Committees.
Board Committees are composed of board members, school administrators and community members. Committees research, discuss and finally send recommendations to be discussed and voted on by the Board of Trustees. It is strongly recommended that, prior to being proposed for board membership, individuals serve on a committee for at least one year.
